The Wakino Ad company is garnering attention online for a new, pretty unexpected advertising strategy: renting space to clients in the armpits of women.
"In the 21st century, the value of advertising is changing. We will not be caught in the existing framework, we will commit to realizing creative to solve problems by responding to client's needs," reads a statement on the company's website.
The company charges 10,000 yen ($90.10) an hour for an armpit ad that is only visible when a model raises her arm.
This strategy makes a little more sense (but not much) when one learns that Wakino is owned by a company called Liberta which is a cosmetics company that sells products for se on the underarm.
