PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WJLA) - A man is on the loose after authorities say he allegedly pulled a woman to the ground by her hair, choked her, punched her in the face, and caused her to lose consciousness while she was holding their 6-month-old daughter.
Prince William County Police say they responded to a 911 call from a home in the 11400 block of Lucasville Road in Manassas at 12:47 a.m. Saturday. The 35-year-old woman told police that she and 38-year-old Robert Hardy II got into an argument while driving and he started choking her. When they got to the home on Lucasville Road, the woman says Hardy continued his attack while she was holding their baby daughter.
Officers say a family member saw Hardy's alleged assault and tried to call police but Hardy took their phone and damaged it before he eventually fled. Police say the woman suffered minor injuries and her 6-month-old daughter was not hurt.
Authorities say they have a warrant for Hardy's arrest on charges of strangulation, child endangerment, domestic assault and battery, and preventing the summoning of a law enforcement officer. Hardy lives in the 3200 block of John Rolfe Court in Dumfries and is described as a white man standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 165 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
Anyone with information on him is asked to call police.
