WASHINGTON (ABC7) — The day that many D.C. sports fans thought would never happen has finally arrived!
The city has seemingly been in a state of euphoria since the Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights to capture their first Stanley Cup Thursday.
The long-awaited parade will start Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Constitution Avenue and 17th Street, NW and will progress from Constitution Avenue to seventh Street to the National Mall.
The parade is expected to draw massive crowds and, if the team's rowdy weekend in D.C. is any indication, will be a truly wild atmosphere. The White House encouraged federal agencies to grant its employees administrative leave during the parade and there will even be an F-16 flyover at 11:15 a.m.
The rally will be held at the parade end point, at seventh street and the National Mall.
