When Portland Police Officer Daniel Trummer woke up on Monday morning, he likely didn't know that he'd bring a legendary jaywalker to justice later while out in a squad car. But that didn't stop him from apprehending a "free-roaming" chicken crossing the road.
Officer Trummer found a free-roaming chicken at SE 13th Ave and SE Stark St. With the assistance of a community member he was able to get the chicken into his patrol car. He was unable to find the owner, so he turned the chicken over to Animal Control in Troutdale. 🐔👮 pic.twitter.com/KSDYf4hvcT— Portland Police (@PortlandPolice) June 4, 2018
Trummer, with the help of a community member, was able to corral the chicken into the back seat of his cruiser, leading to some humorous photographs the department posted to its Twitter account.
The officer was not able to locate the chicken's owner, and so he turned the chicken, black and white in color, over to the animal control department in Troutdale.
