Sad news: two bobcat kittens who were taken from their mother last month after a family says they mistook them for domestic kittens have died.
Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation says the kittens died from the feline version of the parvovirus.
The bobcat kittens were around three weeks old when they were taken by a man from his shed in Atascosa County and given to his sister.
The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services initially took the kittens in after the woman and her family were bitten and scratched. ACS then took the cats to Wildlife Rescue.
On their Facebook page, the sanctuary says the stress put on the bobcat kittens after their removal from their mother likely caused their immune systems to be compromised.
