LOS ANGELS (Circa) -- When business expert Heather Monahan was fired from a C-suite job in corporate America, yes, she freaked out, but she also turned that downfall into something positive.

Instead of going back to her comfort zone and chasing another executive sales job - Monahan, who resides in Florida, decided to start #BossInHeels, a platform that offers advice and leadership to women.

The Glass Ceiling Award winner's climb to the top wasn't easy. She says one of the biggest hurdles she had to overcome as a woman in the workplace was building confidence. Her new book, "Confidence Creator," talks about that process. In it, she also shares tips and tricks for others.

"When you hit a rough patch, remind yourself that life is like an ocean," said Monahan. "There are times where you're riding high on a beautiful wave and times when that wave comes crashing down. The important thing to remember is that life is a cycle and you will inevitably get back up on that wave again."

"Confidence Creator" is available now on Amazon.
