People are trolling the New York Times' over its American cheese-infused ramen recipe

NEW YORK (Circa) - The internet is back at it again with another heated debate: When (if ever!?) should American cheese go on ramen? The debate started after The New York Times tweeted an article with a recipe on how to make the "perfect instant ramen" with an egg, butter and slices of American cheese.

In response to the author's suggestion to add slices of American cheese to the Japanese dish, people have been trolling the Times with GIFs, memes and more. "You can't be trusted to not tweet horrible things," one person replied to the tweeted article.

"How can I delete this article from the internet?," someone else asked.

Others have accused the author of attempting to "Americanise" the popular soup.

Some have pointed out it's not the first time the publication has suggested an ~interesting~ food combo.
