What is it like being a wrestler? Heck, what is it like being a wrestler from Russia? I don't know the answers to these questions, but they're incredible exciting ones -- however, we are lucky on CircaPop Live to be joined by someone who does have the answers. Star of "Total Divas", actress in "Other Versions of You", premiering at the Nashville Film Festival, and, pertinent to the conversation, WWE star CJ "Lana" Perry joins us today to talk abut her illustrious wrestling career with our CircaPop Live hosts Ryan Mitchell and Shira Lazar.
Lana discusses her history of athletics, starring as a professional dancer in Russia where she learned discipline and work ethic, which helped her get into the WWE -- where just being flexible and athletic is helpful, but Lana had to apply that work ethic to learn Olympic weight lifting to be able to throw people over her head. Lana then discusses her acting background and how she could play a variety of characters -- until she was paired with her real life husband, who is Bulgarian, as a Russian villain. People love a Russian villain, explains Lana, because people can chant "USA! USA! USA!". Exciting.
