OUTER BANKS, N.C. (WJLA) - The body of 4-year-old Wesley Belisle, who officials say was swept away by a wave in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, was found Monday morning on the shores of Carova Beach in Currituck County, the Kitty Hawk Police Department confirmed.

According to The Washington Post, the young boy was walking in shallow waters on Wednesday afternoon with his mother when a wave suddenly hit and swept him into the waters of the Outer Banks.

Police say the family has been notified and are making arrangements to transfer the body back to New Hampshire, where they were visiting from.
