WASHINGTON (Circa) - Republican Congressman Charlie Dent has resigned from Congress. He currently serves as representative to Pennsylvania's 15th District which includes Berks, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lehigh, and Northampton counties, according to his official website.
He has called his time in public service "a tremendous responsibility and the privilege of a lifetime."
"I am especially proud of the work I have done to give voice to the sensible center in our country that is often overlooked or ignored. It is my intention to continue to aggressively advocate for responsible.governance and pragmatic solutions in the coming years," Dent said in the statement.
Dent also served on the Chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee for the House Appropriations Committee.
