ARLINGTON, Va (Circa) - Brandon Charles isn’t your typical radio host. The DC area resident, who is blind, uses his platform to shine a light on the lives of people living with disabilities. Don’t get it twisted. This is no boo-hoo broadcast. All of his guests are thriving despite their disabilities.

His program, Breaking Boundaries, is essentially a hour long conversation with people who are differently able or are advocates for the community. They also make up a large number of his fan base, but Charles’ show is intended to be for everyone. He moved to the DC area to hear the stories of people with varying disabilities and how they overcame societal adversity. His past guests range from musicians to someone who over came traumatic brain surgery to become an entrepreneur.

Breaking Boundaries airs on Arlington Public Radio on Mondays at 4-5pm. You can listen on-demand at mixcloud.com/brandon-charles.
