The 2018 Best Places to Live were determined in part by a public survey of thousands of individuals across the U.S. to find out what qualities they consider important in a home town.
In order to find to come out with this list, the U.S. News and World Report collected responses from more than 2,000 people across the United States in a survey. The publication asked participants what matters most to them when picking the next city they would live in.
The publication also released their lists for the best affordable places to live and the best places to retire.
