Cardi B is definitely winning!
Her debut album "Invasion of Privacy" has barely been out for 24 hrs and it is already been certified gold by the RIAA.
According to Forbes, Cardi’s album was certified Gold due to a technicality. Her debut single "Bodak Yellow", which topped the Billboard Hot 100 Charts in September is certified 5x Multi-Platinum (5 million units) by the RIAA.
And according to Chart Data, the way digital singles are counted, 10 track units equal one album sale, so that means "Invasion of Privacy" has (technically) moved 500,000 units.
However, "Bodak Yellow's" past units sales will not go towards her first week sales.
But that doesn't matter, because her second single, "Bartier Cardi" which peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, was just certified platinum.
"...I worked so hard on this album ... This music industry (stuff) is a roller coaster, an emotional roller coaster. It's more crazier than the streets," Cardi B said.
"Invasion of Privacy" has also gained a lot of positive reviews on social media and fans are loving the features which include Chance the Rapper, SZA, Kehlani and YG just to name a few.
The Bronx-born rapper has been having a an exciting 2017 and now she is having a whirlwind 2018.
With a number one song under her belt, an appearance in a Super Bowl ad for Amazon and now a certified gold debut album, it's safe to say that Cardi B will be in the hip-hop game for a looong time.
