Over the weekend a very promising duo met its end at the end of creative executives — mainly that of Donald Glover and Marvel’s Deadpool. Atlanta writer Donald Glover and his brother, writer Stephen Glover, began an exciting project creating the straight to series order for FXX for “Deadpool: The Animated Series”, an adult animated adaptation of Marvel’s famous R-rated mercenary mutant. Unfortunately, FXX canceled the project, and in response, Donald Glover created a mock script for the “Finale” of the Deadpool show, where Deadpool comments on the cancellation of the show, wonders about the racial politics of an all black writers room, and wonders how much modern America really needs a show about a white guy who loves guns right now. Hear to discuss the show are Shira Lazar, Ryan Mitchell and Martine Beerman.
The trio first discusses a joke from the animates series, where Deadpool discusses how they couldn’t have been cancelled due to the series being too black, since they did an entire “goat yoga” episode. Shira and Martine then talk about their love of goat yoga, and that the sessions are diverse, but Ryan mentions that was definitely started by “some white shit”. Ryan also thinks its interesting that he did this in the first place, and that he Tweeted this, considering how rarely he Tweets as is. Ryan thought it was… the best thing.
