Report: Facebook CEO Zuckerberg to testify before Congress

WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will testify before Congress, according to CNN.

This decision comes in light of the Federal Trade Commission stating it's investigating the social media giant's privacy practices and legislators in the United States and the U.K. have demanded answers and called for inquiries. The FTC announced their investigation Monday.

Facebook stocks dropped 13.5 percent after allegations a political consulting firm working for the Trump campaign got data inappropriately from millions of Facebook users. On Monday Facebook stock tumbled as much as 6.5 percent, but finished with a small gain as the broader market surged.

The hearing will be hosted by the Senate Judiciary Committee on April 10.
