FedEx near Austin airport secure after 'follow-up' suspicious package investigation

AUSTIN, Texas (KEYE) - The Austin Police Department has cleared the scene after making what it called a "follow-up" suspicious package investigation at the FedEx sorting facility near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Local and federal law enforcement agencies swarmed the building Tuesday, investigating a package officials say was tied to previous bombings in Austin.

APD says 23-year-old Mark Anthony Conditt sent the package from a FedEx Office location in Sunset Valley.

Police say the building was briefly evacuated for precautionary measures but normal operations have resumed.
