WASHINGTON (Circa) - Northwestern on Wednesday issued an "all clear" following reports of a man with a gun on its campus, adding that police had determined the incident was "a hoax."
Emergency services were reporting a "person with gun" on Northwestern's Evanston campus. Authorities asked students to shelter in place until police said it is safe.

Copaken's daughter texted, "person with a gun on campus I love you I think everything's fine there's a lockdown drill I love you."
Police on Wednesday said "there is no evidence of a victim, scene or gunman found." A large police presence remains, however, causing major roads to remain closed.
Wednesday's emergency situation happened as thousands of students walked out of their high school campuses across the country to protest against gun violence. The day has become unofficially known as National Walk Out Day.
