Playful Penguins take camera and pose for selfie

A couple of curious emperor penguins took an amusing video selfie at the Auster Rookery near Australia’s Mawson research station.

An expeditioner for the Australian Antarctic Division, Eddie Gault, left his camera on the ice and the curious duo took advantage of the opportunity and posed for the camera.

The Australian Antarctic Division is responsible for the “Advancement of Australia’s strategic, scientific, environmental and economic interests in the Antarctic by protecting, administering and researching the region.”

According to the groups official website, they research penguins to better understand “how they live, here they go, what they do, and what they need to survive and how human activities may impact on their lives and survival chances.”
