Chanel brought Paris Fashion Week to a close in an autumn wonderland

0

Chanel presented its Fall-Winter 2018/19 collection in its usual extravagant form, kicking off the final day of Paris Fashion Week with an homage to autumn.

The enchanting set transformed the Grand Palais into a fall forest, complete with crimson leaves carpeting the catwalk, and oak trees imported from the Perche region of France.

The Grand Palais was transformed into an autumn wood for Chanel's Fall/Winter 2018 collection.

The autumnal atmosphere was echoed in the collection, with oak leaf prints and statement scarves, and warm coppery shades alternating with subdued mossy hues.

But the designer Karl Lagerfeld stayed true to the house's iconic oeuvre of classic colors and cuts, with many models wearing looks dominated by founder Coco Chanel's preferred black.

"Entering that forest felt like I wanted to go back to autumn already and we've barely left winter," said model Audrey Marnay, alluding to an unseasonably cold month across Europe. If the runway is any indication, Chanel fans will be ready for any weather this coming fall.
