LANCASTER COUNTY — A prison inmate who was convicted for abusing his infant son in 2009 is now facing a homicide charge after the child died.
Antonio Flores-Feliciano, 35, was convicted in 2012, and is already serving a 6.5 to 25-year sentence for a series of abuse that had disabled his son.
After the abuse in November 2009, the child Addiel Flores, was confined to a crib and couldn't breathe or eat on his own.
Doctors testified at the trial that the baby was injured in a series of "violent shakings."
Addiel died at Reading Hospital on Oct. 25, 2017. He was 8 years old.
An autopsy revealed that the boy died of head and brain trauma caused by Shaken Baby Syndrome and Shaken Impact Syndrome.
Addiel's manner of death was ruled as homicide.
Flores-Feliciano, an inmate at a state prison in Indiana County, was charged and will be arraigned at a later date.
