Officials: Hazmat incident reported at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Virginia

ARLINGTON, Va. (ABC7) — Two patients are currently being assessed following a hazmat incident at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington Tuesday, according to Arlington County Fire officials.

CNN reports that three people fell ill after coming in contact with a suspicious letter, according to Specialist Nicholas Hodges.

Hodges says a corporal, gunnery sergeant and a colonel "exhibited symptoms of burning hands and face and one person had a nosebleed."

According to CNN, it is unclear who opened and who may have handled the letter at this time.
