Love it, hate it or love to hate, "Jersey Shore" is one of the major pop-culture phenomenons of the early 21st century. Since 2009, Jersey Shore remains one MTV's top rated shows in the network's history and has opened our millennials eyes to what share-houses are all about -- GTL, T-shirt time, Ron Ron Juice and being DTF. From the creators of this reality television masterpiece comes yet another piece of share-house gold, Winter Break: Hunter Mountain.
Winter Break: Hunter Mountain follows your typical MTV reality show mold -- strangers picked to live in a house, work together and have their lives taped (blah blah blah) -- except this party moves us from the beach to the mountains. Hunter Mountain, located just outside New York City, is the premiere hot-spot for twentysomethings on winter break looking to "shred" (for those that may not know, "shredding" is a phrase used in extreme sports like skiing/snowboarding).
From skiiing to drinking, drinking to snowboarding, partying to fighting and drinking some more, Winter Break is packed with pranks, hook-ups and Hunter Mountain-isms that only MTV shows can provide. And I'm not sure if it's because several of the Winter Break kids are from Jersey, but those nostalgic Jersey Shore vibes came rushing back and had me fist pumping within the first ten minutes.
MTV may have another hit on their hands -- check it out for yourself. Winter Break: Hunter Mountain premieres tonight at 10:30pm on MTV.
