Working People’s Day of Action protest underway in D.C.

Demonstrations are being held across the country Saturday for equality, affordable health care, better schools, and “a secure future for all of us.”

Organizers of the Working People’s Day of Action expected thousands of people to participate in about 25 protests in cities nationwide ahead of a Supreme Court hearing Monday that they say could empower corporate interests at the expense of workers.

“Wealthy special interests, backed by the Trump Administration, want the Supreme Court to rig the economy even more in their favor with a case called Janus v. AFSCME Council 31,” organizer said on their website. “The forces behind this case simply do not believe that working people should have the same freedoms and opportunities as they do. The case will be heard on February 26.”
