COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) — The South Carolina Department of Environmental Control is investigating after its Twitter account hurled a vulgar insult at President Donald Trump this week.

The tweet was posted to the department's account around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday stating, " What a f------- tool the President of the United States is #ParklandStudentsSpeak."

The department has taken down the post and apologized for an "unauthorized tweet."

A DHEC spokesperson says only a dozen employees should have access to the account and he does not believe any of them posted the tweet.

He adds the account password has been changed and the department is still trying to figure out what happened.
