10 year old facing charges after reportedly saying he was going to bring a gun to school

PIQUA, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - Piqua Police are charging a 10 year old with making false alarms after he reportedly said he was going to bring a gun to school.

Police Chief Bruce Jamison said the boy told others on the way home from the bus stop that he planned to bring the gun, and the threat was brought to the attention of police Wednesday afternoon.

Piqua PD opened an investigation and told the student not to go to school until they had more information. After finding probable cause in the case, they charged him with the first degree misdemeanor.

Jamison did say that there was no true danger in the district in connection with this investigation.
