CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. (CBS12) — A teen is behind bars in western Florida after investigators say he posted a threatening video to Snapchat.
Kane Watson, 18, is facing multiple charges including written threats to kill or do bodily injury and false report concerning planting a bomb, explosive or weapon of mass destruction.
Investigators with the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office received a tip about the video on Monday afternoon. Authorities said the video showed a person opening a case and removing a Spike's SL15 Tactical Rifle. The rifle is loaded. The person on the video picks up the rifle and a caption appears on the video which reads, "Don't go to school."
The sheriff's office believed the video to be a threat to the Wakulla County Schools. Investigators traced the video to Watson. When questioned, he said he posted the video to deal with stress through humor.
