Brittany Furlan discusses Jennifer Lawrence's turn to activism

Jennifer Lawrence has just done something fairly unprecedented for a celebrity of her stature — quit acting for the common good — mainly helping young people engage politically.

Lawrence is preparing to begin a non-profit in order to help stop the use of bribery in politics and help pass anti-corruption laws. It’s an incredible move, and here to discuss it are Circa Pop Live hosts, Shira Lazar, Ryan Mitchell and our special guest, social media star Brittany Furlan.

What do they have to say about this actress's sabbatical?

However Brittany asks -- would Jennifer Lawrence have cared about acting if she wasn't a famous person? Is it performative? Is it a PR move? Martine however is shocked by this! Its Jennifer Lawrence! She doesn't need to do a PR move! She's already deeply famous! Shira points out she also spoke up at Women's Marches. Britanny maintains that -- this is odd. Being famous should not be the road to being a politician. It is an interesting trend, and we just hope this all ends with extreme world peace.
