TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Tulsa Police arrested a woman Friday afternoon after she drove her vehicle through a fence with her child in the car.
Officers received the call around 3:30 p.m. that someone drove a car through a fence at the Dove School of Discovery near East 51st Street and South 72nd East Avenue.
School officials told police that the woman was intoxicated.
When officers got to the scene, they found out the suspect, Amy Thomas, was there to pick up her 4-year-old child who was in the car with her.
Witnesses say Thomas lost control of her car while she was waiting in line. Her vehicle went through a nearby fence and onto the playground.
Police say they found evidence that led them to believe Thomas was under the influence of controlled dangerous substances.
She agreed to take a blood test at a local hospital.
Officers say no children were on the playground at the time of the accident.
Thomas, who is already a convicted felon, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and child endangerment.
