The FBI says it investigated a threatening comment posted to YouTube last year, but the investigation led to nowhere.
According to a post from YouTube blogger Ben the Bondsman, the FBI spoke to him about a comment he said received last year by a person named Nikolas Cruz.
"In 2017, the FBI received information about a comment made on a YouTube channel. The comment simply said, 'I'm going to be a professional school shooter,'" special agent in charge of FBI's Miami division says, adding that they could not identify commenter https://t.co/a1MXsLNIPw pic.twitter.com/UzpiSGbwUW— CBS News (@CBSNews) February 15, 2018
Rob Lasky, Special Agent with the FBI, said at a news conference Thursday the comment read, "I'm going to be a professional school shooter."
Lasky said the FBI conducted database reviews and checks but could not get a true identity of the person who made the post.
The FBI was warned in September about a possible school shooting threat from a YouTube user with the same name as the suspect in Wednesday's campus massacre in Parkland, Florida, according to a video blogger https://t.co/u7TreJ6TO9 pic.twitter.com/sJi48Edcrm— CNN Breaking News (@cnnbrk) February 15, 2018
