Girl Scout cookie season is nearly upon us, but before scouts can sell the tasty snacks, they need to be delivered. Affilate KATU spoke with volunteers over the weekend, where they were busy handing out some of the 1.7 million boxes of cookies about to go on sale in Oregon and Southern Washington.
The warehouse work was part of Girl Scout Depot Days, where thousands of volunteers help distribute the cookies.
One volunteer said that it's a lot of work, but worth it. "My daughter, she's a cookie boss,"said warehouse organizer Cristin Rosenbaum. “She sold 762 boxes last year and decided she needed to set her goal at 850 this year. So I spend every waking moment dealing with cookies." Cookie booths will start popping up on Friday.
