Cat rushed to veterinarian following rescue from electric pole

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A cat was rushed to the veterinarian following a rescue from an electric pole.

The cat, named Stormy, climbed up the electric pole on Lowe and Ninth in Fresno. Crews were called out Monday morning around 9:00 a.m. Stormy spent the night within three feet from a live transformer.

PG&E arrived to shut off the power because the electric pole was high voltage.

Once the power was off, two crewmembers were able to climb up in an attempt to rescue the 10-month-old cat.

Stormy jumped down before crews were able to grab her. She landed in a backyard with dogs.

A fireman quickly jumped in and grabbed Stormy from the dogs and gave her to her owners.

Stormy was rushed to a veterinarian. Her condition is unknown at this time.
