Time to put aside your New Year's resolution, because LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is going to seduce you back to the dark side.
The west coast's biggest baking and pastry expo is descending on Los Angeles this weekend with on-stage celebrity cooking demos, meet and greets, and lots and lots of sweets. The event itself is massive, selling out the last three years in a row, forcing the con to move to its new home in the enormous Anaheim Convention Center where thousands of very sugared-up people will gather to share their love of sweets.
The weekend is full of celebrity guests like chefs Ron-Ben Israel and Duff Goldman, as well as UFC fighter Meisha "Cupcake" Tate, comedian Ken Jeong, and the original Robin from the Batman TV show, Burt Ward who is bringing the original 60's Batmobile. See? Everyone loves cookies.
If there's one thing we've learned from cooking channels in the past decade, it's that the baking community loves competition. So it's no surprise that LA Cooke Con offers a Decorator's Showcase competition, featuring four creative categories: wedding, rock n' roll, animated characters, and horror.
What better way to start of Valentine's Day week than with a visit to LA Cookie Con?
