In D.C., scores of people showed up for "the nation's largest pantless party." Revelers prepared with some liquid courage, some stretching and then hit the rainy, cold streets of Washington to run half-naked mile.
The annual undie run is not just a way to show off your finest Valentine's Day attire, it's hosted by Cupid's Charity to raise money for Neurofibromatosis (NF) research. So far the charity has raised more than $14 million to find a cure for NF, a genetic disorder affected 1 in every 3,000 children born.
The annual event started as a crazy idea, it's founders say. "In 2010, a group of do-gooders dropped their pants and ran through the D.C. cold to raise money for research to help end neurofibromatosis." Since it's inception, the group has raised more than $14.5 million.
