Snapchat was the number 1 Twitter trending topic on Tuesday night heading into Wednesday morning.
In November 2017, Snapchat's chief executive officer Evan Spiegel warned investors that the changes could have an impact on the app in the short-term.
But Spigel said at the time that they were "willing to take that risk for what we believe are substantial long-term benefits to our business."
The company announced on Tuesday that the app grew their number of users on and also grew revenue. The app rose from 178 million users to 187 million users.
Reuters reports that Snapchat's uptick in numbers has created investor enthusiasm.
