We caught up with the creators of the show on its 10th anniversary. Here's the full interview:
On this day 10 years ago, two step brothers entered the homes and hearts of millions on a regular basis. "Phineas and Ferb," the Disney Channel show created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, made its series debut in 2007.
The show focused on Phineas and Ferb's wild inventions and adventures they went on with their friends. Meanwhile, their older sister Candace would always try, and ultimately fail, to get them in trouble with their mother.
Phineas and Ferb also had a pet, named Perry the Platypus, who acted as a secret agent when no one was looking and always fought his nemesis Dr. Doofenshmirtz.
What separated this animated series from others was its musical score, which garnered the show multiple Emmy nominations.
In 2011, "Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension" premiered on television, averaging 7.6 million viewers, making it one of the highest-rated animated programs at that time.
While the show is still on the air on Disney XD, new episodes stopped after the series finale in 2015 after 4 seasons.
But the characters are coming back in 2018 on Povenmire and Marsh's new show on Disney XD "Milo Murphy's Law." The show is expected to be a crossover event.
Here is the official description from Disney:
Premiering in 2018 on Disney XD, Povenmire and Marsh have planned on doing a crossover since the beginning of "Milo Murphy's Law" and have been planting Easter eggs throughout the first season hinting at the fact that Milo and friends live in Danville, just a few neighborhoods away from Phineas and Ferb." In addition to Phineas and Ferb, other favorite characters confirmed to appear include Perry the Platypus, Doofenshmirtz, Candace, Isabella, Baljeet and Buford.
