Gronk says he will be playing in the Super Bowl despite previous injury

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (WJAR) -- — New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski said he will be playing in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Gronk shared the news with Circa's affiliate WJAR-TV Tuesday night during a media event in Minneapolis.

Gronk sustained a helmet-to-helmet hit Sunday in the AFC Championship game and was put into the league's concussion protocol.

But he has been participating in practices and said he is ready for the big game.

The Patriots play the Philadelphia Eagles in Minneapolis on Feb. 4.
