Woman who may have been oldest Walmart greeter in America dies at 100 years old


SIOUXLAND, N.D. — Margaret "Mikki" Paul, a woman from North Sioux City, South Dakota, who may have been the oldest greeter at the nation's Walmart's has passed away.

Paul celebrated her 100th birthday in September.

Paul was raised in Newcastle, Neb. and lived in North Sioux City for roughly 50 years.

Many local residents remember Paul from her days working at old local venues such as Plaza Theater and 75 Drive Inn Theater.

She also worked at local mall theaters before moving on to her final destination - Walmart. She stopped working shortly before she turned 100.

In July, she served as Grand Marshal of a local parade in North Dakota.

As Siouxland City Journal points out, Paul has lived through World War I, the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, World War II, the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars among other world events.
