SANDY, Ore. (KATU) — A man was spotted with a cat on the hood of his SUV earlier this week, and people who saw it thought it was not only weird but perhaps it was a case of animal cruelty.
But the owner of the cat, Jesse Dorsett Jr., said his three felines, Pixie, Dixie and Mister Jinks, love going for rides.
He takes them along on his job as a roadside assistant, and when his work is finished, it’s playtime.
“When I’m done, sometimes in parking lots, they want to ride around on the hood, and I drive around the outskirts of the parking lot, and they basically hunt for rodents, or lizards or small game,” Dorsett said. “I entertain them like that.”
Dorsett has had his cats since they were kittens. He said he never puts them in harm’s way, and that he’s holding them by a leash the whole time so they’re in no danger.
