MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — The U.S. Supreme Court has extended the stay of execution for Alabama death-row inmate Vernon Madison indefinitely, according to the Alabama Dept. of Corrections.
Madison was scheduled to be executed Thursday night for killing a Mobile police officer in the 1980's.
According to the Alabama Dept. of Corrections, the Attorney General of the state of Alabama will need to file a motion to dispute the Supreme Court's ruling if they want the execution to proceed at a later date.
