Police say the baby boy born after an emergency C-section following a crash on Monday that killed his mother in Skowhegan, Maine has died.
The baby named Gage died Thursday morning at Eastern Maine Medical Center, according to police.
Police say 27-year-old Desiree Strout was on her way to the hospital to induce labor on her third child when she hit a patch of black ice and lost control.
Strout's husband and the couple's 8-year-old daughter were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash, when it rolled over and landed on a frozen pond along Route 2.
Strout was nine months pregnant. Her son was delivered by C-section at the hospital, but she didn't survive.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family.
