Eagles fan collides with subway pillar during celebration of Super Bowl trip

PHILADELPHIA (Sinclair Broadcast Group) — Chances are high that plenty of Philadelphia Eagles fans were ready to run through a wall after watching their team secure a spot in the Super Bowl after drubbing the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Sunday.

Now a video is going viral that appears to show an exuberant member of the Philly faithful doing something awfully close to that.

Twitter user Trill Gate posted a video Sunday night of a crowded Philadelphia subway car. And what do the riders see out of their window? A man in an Eagles jersey running at close to full speed alongside the moving train, possibly trying to catch a ride or maybe just overcome with pure elation.

Whatever the reason, it did not end well for him. Watch what happens:

The video shows the man crash into a column in the subway station, causing him to leave his feat and land on the hard ground.

Sports fans in the City of Brotherly Love are known for their over-the-top fanaticism and thousands celebrated in the city streets after the Eagles beat the Vikings 38-7, though the Associated Press reports only a few arrests were made.

The "Bird Gang" likely will not let a few subway pillars or other large objects stop them from flying high as they celebrate en route to Super Bowl LII.
