It’s amazing to see the things that were once considered okay by the general public given a very blunt wake up call as the world is forced to ask “what on Earth are you talking about, why would you make someone pay money if they wanted to talk about their sexual assault, Jesus Christ”. That’s pretty much what happened these past few days when, upon discovering that breaking gymnast Makayla Maroney’s NDA to speak out against the man who sexually assaulted her as a child, Larry Nassar, would cost her $100,000, Chrissy Teigen offered to pay it for her. Here to discuss this incredibly generous act that helps take down abusers are our hosts — Ryan Mitchell and Brandie Marie, and our special guests Suzanne Coote and Matt Angel.
Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote are here to promote their upcoming Netflix movie, “The Open House” — coming out January 19th, 2018 — which they wrote and directed — are here to discuss this very serious subject. Suzanne mentions that it’s so great that the women are being believed, and Matt mentions that it’s great that the #MeToo movement is leaving Hollywood and into other industries — and hopefully the movement will continue onwards until abusers have few places they can hide.
