"Introducing Blackout™: The biggest thing to hit #CES2018 since #5G," Intel tweeted Wednesday shortly after a power outage brought the bustling Consumer Technology Association (CES) conference in Las Vegas to a screeching halt.
Companies and people attending the conference quickly began using the hashtag #CESblackout, commenting on the irony of the whole situation.
The CES conference acts as a platform for innovative business leaders to show off their latest technology developments.
It remains unclear what caused the outage, but CES tweeted saying it is an isolated incident.
"We are working hard to resolve this and appreciate your patience," CES added in a separate tweet.
CNBC reporter Alex Sherman tweeted that the south hall of CES was evacuated following the outage.
