A couple of years ago, a throwback photo of Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson wearing a fanny pack went viral and became an instant meme. Not to completely blame Johnson for the return of the fanny packs, but it did put the accessory back on everyone's minds.
If you're a '90s baby, you probably remember every single one of your family members wearing a fanny pack on a trip to Disneyland, or even to the mall. Fanny packs got a bad rap as a fashion faux pas - and most of them were manufactured and sold by outdoor gear companies.
But of course, the '90s can't exactly be credited with inventing the fanny pack -- in fact, the belt bag has been around for centuries, taking different shape and form as money bags and tool belts. They are undeniably practical and useful, which is why they've always remained a music festival must-have through generations.

Now, luxury fashion brands like Gucci and Prada are giving fanny packs a face lift. Even streetwear brands like Supreme have fanny packs (or "waist bags," as they brand it) of different styles.
