Whether you like her or not, Taylor Swift had an amazing 2017. She sold and broke more records than anyone else in the music business. These are facts.
The first half of 2017 was mostly swiftless. But, on Friday, August 18, the day her website and all her socials went dark, things got nuts.
On August 21, the Swifties got rattled.
She dropped "Look What You Made Me Do" on August 24. In the 24 hours after that release, it was streamed more than eight million times on Spotify, a record.
On August 27, the video was viewed more than 43 million times on YouTube, another record.
On November 10, "Reputation" was released. In its first week, it sold more than two million copies worldwide. And, it immediately went to No. 1 in 12 countries.
Even though "Reputation" wasn't GRAMMY eligible this year, Swift still earned two nods. One for writing the song "Better Man" for country group Little Big Town and one for her duet with Zayn Malik, "I Don't Want to Live Forever," from the soundtrack for "Fifty Shades Darker."
And, she landed on the cover of Time magazine's "Person of the Year" issue as a "Silence Breaker."
We're betting Swift will have an even greater 2018 as her "Reputation" stadium tour begins on May 8.
