You can visit a scene straight from the North Pole at the JW Marriott hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Santa's Tavern is a fully functional pop-up bar made entirely of candy and gingerbread cookie. It's stationed in the hotel lobby amongst the other holiday decorations.
The beauty of the bar lies in the details and the sheer volume in numbers that it took to bring it to life. The wooden lodge-themed bar is made up of 1,300 pounds of gingerbread cookie, and the hotel's pastry kitchen spent upwards of 1,200 "elf" hours creating it.
Every day from 4 to 5 p.m., the bar offers complimentary samples of their signature cocktail, "Santa's Little Helper." It's a twist on a traditional Moscow Mule that uses gingerbread liqueur.
Santa's Tavern will be open through Jan. 2.
