Fairfax County police have identified the man who they say stripped naked after he crashed his car and assaulted a driver on southbound Route 28 near Washington Dulles International Airport on Tuesday.
Police say Sterling resident Jose Gonzalez Flores, 32, remains in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the incident. There are multiple warrants that will be served for Gonzalez Flores once he gets out of the hospital, including for felony hit and run, possession of marijuana, assault and battery, and indecent exposure.
According to police, Gonzalez Flores was involved in a three-vehicle hit-and-run collision around Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. Following the crash, police say the man got out of his car and assaulted one of the other drivers involved in the accident. He then took off his clothes and jumped on a passing truck, causing damage, before fleeing from the scene.
Police say when he jumped onto the truck, Gonzalez Flores broke one of the windows. Authorities said no other people were injured during the crash or assault.
Police say they do not know if Gonzalez Flores had a "medical emergency after the accident" or if he was being influenced by drugs or alcohol.
