Anderson Cooper
FILE - In this May 18, 2016 file photo, CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper attends the Turner Network 2016 Upfronts in New York. Cooper signed a long-term deal to stay with CNN, a person with knowledge of the agreement said Tuesday, Oct. 4. His decision may put an end to the possibility he'll join Kelly Ripa as co-host of ABC's "Live." She reportedly favored him to replace Michael Strahan, who jumped to ABC’s “Good Morning America." Anderson Cooper claims his account was hacked after a tweet calling Trump a 'tool'

CNN's Anderson Cooper says he is the victim of a social media hack after a post was sent from his Twitter account calling President Donald Trump a "tool" and a "pathetic loser," our affiliate WJLA reported.

The tweet was in response to one of Trump's Wednesday morning posts that claimed Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore had "the deck" "stacked against him" after he lost to Democrat Doug Jones amid sexual misconduct allegations.

Trump said in the tweet that the reason he originally endorsed Luther Strange for the position was because he did not think Moore could win. Trump later voiced his support for Moore leading up to the election.

"Oh Really?" the tweet from Cooper's account replied. "You endorsed him you tool! Pathetic loser."

The post has since been deleted and Cooper said he had not tweeted in days prior to this incident. He says that he is investigating how someone else used his account as he claims.

CNN also said that someone tweeted the reply to Trump and it is working with Twitter to get the account secured.
