Artist and entrepreneur Rihanna's beauty line, Fenty Beauty, launched in September and immediately disrupted the cosmetic industry. The makeup line offers forty shades of foundation made for women of all color and skin tones, plus glamorous highlighters all at a fair price.
Inclusivity was important to Rihanna when she was creating her beauty line. The cosmetic industry has notoriously catered to women with fair to light skin, so to have foundation shades that actually match your skin tone, especially for women of color, was life-changing -- so much so that it sold out almost immediately.
In November, TIME Magazine named Fenty Beauty one of the best inventions of the year, along with a casual list of robots, the iPhone X, VR headsets, etc. Apparently, the first month of sales added $72 million to Rihanna's net worth.
