The Museum of Failure celebrates products of innovation that flopped with consumers

Failure is a part of life; thus, it only makes sense there is a museum to celebrate it.

#ComeFailWithUs

The Museum of Failure started in Helsingborg, Sweden, earlier this year, but is currently on a worldwide tour. It's now open at the Architecture and Design Museum in Downtown Los Angeles through February 4.

This museum is certainly not to be viewed negatively, as one might think when we hear the word "failure." You'll find inspirational quotes from innovative icons all around the floor.

Dr. Samuel West, who holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology, is the museum's founder and curator. His academia research was all about how a playful work environment promotes experimentation and exploration.

"Those are two activities where there's a high rate of failure. Innovation and Failure are two sides of the same coin."
Dr. Samuel West, museum curator

He said that by showing off these innovation failures, he hopes the museum will allow people to re-evaluate the meaning of failure and stop stigmatizing it.

Everything from food products to high-tech gadgets is on display. Some of the largest and most successful corporations in the world such as Apple, Sony, and Google have their names on many of the products. Rather than being ashamed of or put off by such failures, West believes they should be embraced.

And, there's plenty to have a good laugh about while you're there.

Trump products on display

What's a modern museum these days without a knock against the current President?

President Trump has his own display case featuring several of his "Trump" branded products that have been released through the years.
